“Shea is an absolute professional, with equal parts creativity, inspiration, technical mastery and ability to listen.
She worked with us patiently, she took on all our preferences and requests, and became a champion for what was possible.” - Jay Chubb
“Shea was the project architect for over 80 seniors living units we were the client for. Throughout the project, she communicated and listened to feedback to create a great outcome for the site. Shea created a solution for FSR that allowed us to have an additional twenty apartments, generating millions in additional revenue. She responded to consultant and Council RFIs quickly to facilitate approval with the JRPP as fast as possible. I would highly recommend her as she adds value to any project.”
~ Stephen Byfield - CEO - Diggers @ the Entrance
This stunning site which is located in Long Jetty on a former area of Diggers at the Entrance carpark is being transformed into eighty nine seniors living apartments with stunning views of Tuggerah Lake and Long Jetty itself. Almost every apartment gets a waterview and has good solar access in winter as well as natural ventilation. The common areas are also stunning with a viewing platform and BBQ area on the second level with amazing views as well as a parkland winding through the middle.
Sandstone, glass & timber combine effortlessly, to reflect the natural and urban surrounds. Vast areas of open, meticulously planned, landscaped gardens, overlook an endless horizon. Space to breathe, space to roam, space to be. Open plan, contemporary interior layouts, provide clear access to the unobstructed views beyond.
A great outcome for the Club, the developers and the people who will live there. Win/Win/Win.
Wawu at Woy Woy
“Shea did a great job with our house, very happy with her approach and knowledge.”
~ Ian Thomas
Wawu is the Yalanji term meaning a person's spirit and this house has a spirit of its own. Aglow with the light of the surrounding water the focus with this home was to capture the water views and create a warm home for its residents. The main challenge the site presented was a minimum building level required for flooding which limited how high the building could go. This was resolved with a split skillion roof with windows to the North to allow sunlight in in winter and keep it out in summer as well as keeping the roofline low.
The guest bedroom on the ground floor is a delight to stay in with expansive views of the water. The owners said people can’t believe this is the guest bedroom until they show them the stunning living area and main bedroom upstairs. Complete with a plunge pool and private jetty, located on the foreshore near lions park, the owners Chris and Ian are relaxed and happy, enjoying an incredible lifestyle and a home that works the way they want it to. The home itself is filled with beautiful furniture that Chris and Ian have restored themselves, creating a warm atmosphere. A lovely home for a lovely couple.
Strawbale Home at Narara Ecovillage
“We never felt pressured to go a certain way, Shea adapted to a change in block and changes in timing. She was always more than fair with fees, and was very flexible in her approach—she really supported us with an incredible design sensibility and intuition. Shea's background as a sketch artist who'd travelled the world on a scholarship sketching architecture was what drew us to her work—alongside her beautiful use of curved, natural forms in sustainable contexts (think Gaudi meets mid-century cool, but eco!). Her sketches brought our dreams and visions to life better than any CAD program I've seen (though she provided great CAD and AI-driven reference materials as well). The sketches with watercolour were a much-loved part of the process and something very few architects can offer.
In the end we found a house to purchase and retrofit that borders our EcoVillage—so we've pivoted towards engaging Shea on a masterplan and renovation—and we're now looking forward to another great experience with Shea.
It really is what it says on the sign: Good Architect!” ~ Jay Chubb
Welcome home at Tormina
“I highly recommend Shea. Shea's plans exceeded my expectations, adding a re-imagining and uniqueness to the space, yet keeping it very functional and liveable. The 3D modelling and images made it very easy to see the finished project. Shea's communication was great throughout the process.” ~ Mira Fox
The challenge for this house was the kitchen which was located to the North East, without any access to the existing deck to the North. This was further constrained by the location of the stair and with a limited budget the clients did not have the funds to relocate. This was an issue as the clients are very congenial and often host events for their church.
The solution was to rotate the kitchen and provide doors outside with cafe style seating to connect the inside to the outside, this allowed the living dining and kitchen to flow outside and made entertaining so much easier for this warm, generous couple.
